The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) replaces the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT), Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP) and Warm Front.

ECO stands for Energy Company Obligation. It is a legal obligation placed on energy companies requiring them to promote measures which improve domestic energy efficiency with low and zero carbon technologies, delivering carbon savings, help alleviate fuel poverty and reduce the cost to households of heating their homes.

What Does Eco Mean for Me?

Anyone who is eligible for Eco has the opportunity to have Energy Efficiency Improvements made to their home without any outlay either up front or on an ongoing basis. The costs are covered by a subsidy provided by the major energy providers to meet their obligations to the environment.
